Professional Responsibility Acknowledgment
MyoPlan is a planning, documentation, and workflow tool designed to assist licensed massage therapists. It uses artificial intelligence (AI) to generate suggestions based on information you provide. MyoPlan does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
By checking the box in the app, I, the user (“Therapist”), affirm that:
1. I am a Licensed / Qualified Professional
I am a licensed or otherwise qualified massage therapist (or similar bodywork professional) operating within my scope of practice, training, and the laws of my jurisdiction. I will not use MyoPlan to provide services that exceed my license, training, or legal authority.
2. All Clinical Decisions Are Mine
I understand and agree that every treatment decision — including but not limited to:
- Assessment of client intake information
- Identification of contraindications, precautions, and medical red flags
- Selection, adaptation, and execution of techniques
- Pressure, duration, and scope of treatment
- Whether to proceed with, modify, or decline a session
- Referral to other healthcare providers when indicated
...is my sole professional responsibility. I will exercise independent professional judgment at all times and will not rely solely on AI-generated output.
3. AI Output Is a Suggestion, Not a Directive
I acknowledge that AI-generated content (including treatment plans, aftercare instructions, and documentation suggestions):
- May be incomplete, incorrect, outdated, or inappropriate for any given client
- Is based only on information provided to the system — it has no independent knowledge of the client
- Must be reviewed, verified, and adapted by me before use with any client
- Does not substitute for my professional judgment, training, or in-person assessment
- Is not a diagnosis and does not constitute medical advice
4. I Am Responsible for Client Safety and Consent
I alone am responsible for:
- Obtaining informed consent from my clients
- Screening for contraindications before and during each session
- Ensuring my treatment is appropriate for the individual client
- Responding to adverse events or client concerns
- Maintaining appropriate client records in compliance with applicable laws
5. I Am Responsible for Privacy and Data Compliance
I understand that client intake information I enter into MyoPlan may include sensitive health information. I am responsible for:
- Obtaining any consents required under HIPAA (if applicable to my practice), state privacy laws, or other regulations before entering client information into MyoPlan
- Ensuring my use of MyoPlan complies with my professional and legal obligations regarding client confidentiality
- Not entering information that exceeds what is reasonably necessary for my practice
6. No Warranty; No Liability
I acknowledge that MyoPlan is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, MyoPlan, its operators, owners, employees, contractors, and affiliates are not liable for:
- Any client injury, complaint, or adverse outcome
- Any loss, damage, claim, or regulatory action arising from my use of the app or AI-generated content
- Any decisions I make in reliance on AI output
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless MyoPlan and its operators from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from my practice, my use of the app, or my treatment of clients.
7. Scope of Practice
I will use MyoPlan only for purposes within my legal scope of practice. I will not use MyoPlan to:
- Diagnose medical conditions
- Prescribe treatment outside my authorized scope
- Make representations to clients that the AI is providing medical advice
- Replace required professional consultation, referral, or training
Acceptance: By checking the acknowledgment box in the MyoPlan app, I confirm that I have read, understood, and agreed to this Acknowledgment, and I accept sole professional responsibility for my practice.
